Journaling for mental health isn't about writing well — it's about making space for what's already inside you. Research consistently shows that expressive writing can reduce stress, improve mood, and help us process difficult emotions.
The prompts below are split into three rituals: a morning reset to set the tone of your day, an evening reflection to close the loop with self-compassion, and a weekly review to notice patterns over time.
Pick one. Set a timer for ten minutes. Begin gently.

How to Use These Prompts
A few gentle reminders
- Choose, don't conquer. One prompt is enough. You don't need to answer all 30.
- Write honestly, not beautifully. Spelling, grammar, and flow do not matter here. Truth does.
- Pair with a small ritual. A warm drink, a candle, a window with natural light. Cues signal safety to your nervous system.
- Return, don't restart. If you miss a day, just begin again. That's the practice.
